Job summary

Avon and Somerset Police is seeking an Intelligence Assessor within CTPSW to co‑ordinate information flow from the force and external agencies, and to develop intelligence within the cycle.

You will manage sensitive data, contribute to tactical and strategic documents, and participate in conferences to strengthen regional capacity. The role involves travel to police estates and shift coverage including weekends.

Qualifications

• Must be computer literate and able to input data accurately.
• Experience of developing intelligence and contributing to assessments.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Experience of report writing for investigations or briefings.
• Knowledge of intelligence databases and data handling procedures.
• Intelligence Professionalization Programme (IPP) certificated or willing to complete IPP.
• Must be willing to undergo MV and SC vetting with potential DV vetting in post.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate collection and receipt of information from within the force, other police forces and external agencies, inputting data onto suitable databases.
• Assess all information and intelligence to identify threat and risk levels, including development, dissemination, disposal or storage decisions.
• Quality assure intelligence to meet standards, including sanitisation, grading and GPMS markings.
• Provide input for tactical and strategic documents and briefs.
• Attend conferences, seminars and courses to enhance investigations and regional capacity.
