About the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Integrated Senior Strategist to join our dynamic team. This is a pivotal role, responsible for developing and driving innovative strategies for some of the UK's leading media brands, including The Times, The Sunday Times, talkSport, and Virgin Radio. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic and strong strategic thinker with a creative mind, possessing exceptional social and digital experience and a proven track record in the media publishing industry. A strong understanding of subscription-driven business models is essential. This role requires a proactive individual who can work closely with clients to understand their business objectives and translate them into effective marketing strategies. You will also be a key collaborator, working alongside creative, design, and production teams to drive creative excellence and achieve business success. The role requires close collaboration with our Media Performance team to ensure strategies, creative, and assets are driving optimum results. An ability to think strategically about customer marketing and building out effective customer journeys is also important.
Crucially, this person needs to have a genuine passion for news, a love for all things politics, entertainment, culture, and sport. They should be constantly on the pulse of what is happening in the news agenda and have a strong point of view on how our brands show up in people's lives.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership: Lead the development and execution of comprehensive marketing and communication strategies that align with the business objectives of The Times, The Sunday Times, talkSport, and Virgin Radio.
Insight & Analysis: Conduct in-depth market research, competitive analysis, and audience insights to identify opportunities and inform strategic recommendations.
Creative Thinking: Generate innovative and creative ideas to enhance brand engagement, drive audience growth, and increase subscription rates.
Digital & Social Expertise: Leverage your deep understanding of digital and social media platforms to develop effective strategies for content distribution, community building, and audience acquisition,
Subscription Focus: Apply your knowledge of subscription-driven business models to develop strategies that optimise subscriber acquisition, retention, and lifetime value.
Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including creative, design, media planning, and account management, to ensure seamless execution of strategic initiatives.
Client Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders at News UK, providing strategic guidance and presenting recommendations with confidence and clarity.
Performance Measurement: Define key performance indicators (KPIs) and track performance against goals, providing regular reports and insights to optimise strategies.
Industry Knowledge: Stay up-to-date on the latest trends and best practices in the media publishing industry, particularly in the areas of digital marketing, social media, and subscription models.

Experience: Extensive experience in a strategic role within a media publishing business or agency environment.
Strategic Thinking: Proven ability to develop and execute successful marketing and communication strategies.
