Job summary

Protec Fire Solutions ANZ in Nelson, United Kingdom, is seeking a senior security design engineer to interpret client briefs, develop compliant CCTV/VSS, intruder and access-control solutions, and produce detailed technical documents.

You will coordinate with architects, electrical and IT teams, perform site surveys, and deliver designs that meet NSI standards and client specs, with a focus on quality, risk control and lifecycle considerations.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of current British/European Standards and NSI requirements.
• Experience in security design, estimating, survey or comparable technical role.
• Experience on large, multi-service security projects.
• Practical knowledge of security-system installation, commissioning or project delivery.

Responsibilities

• Interpret client briefs to establish technical and commercial scope.
• Undertake site surveys and identify constraints, interfaces, risks and exclusions.
• Design compliant CCTV/VSS, intruder detection, access control and intercom systems.
• Produce layouts, schematics, system architectures and equipment schedules.
• Prepare accurate quotations and tender submissions aligned with scope.
• Coordinate designs with architectural, structural, electrical, IT/network and other M&E services.
• Check drawings and technical submissions, ensuring document control procedures.
