Job summary

Protec Fire & Security Group Ltd in Leeds is seeking an Electronic Security Systems Engineer to commission, service and maintain intruder, CCTV and access control systems for commercial clients.

You will work with IP-based security solutions, manage site visits, complete paperwork accurately and adhere to health and safety standards. A full electrical qualification and driving licence are required, with on-call duties, overtime and travel involved.

Qualifications

• Full electrical-based qualification (City & Guilds, ONC, HNC)
• Experience in electronic security engineering, commissioning and servicing
• Knowledge of British Standards & NSI requirements

Responsibilities

• Work under instruction from Security Administration team members
• Maintain knowledge of circuits and measuring devices; follow safety procedures
• Commission new security systems and add-ons to existing ones
• Perform routine servicing and reactive maintenance of security systems
• Maintain accurate records and paperwork for customers and the company
• Undertake on-call duties as part of Area Team
• Other duties as commensurate with the role

Protec Security is an NSI 'Gold' accredited security company, offering an extensive range of technically advanced, IP security systems, including access control, intruder detection, CCTV and intercom systems for the full spectrum of commercial applications. Protec Security have an opportunity for Electronic Security Systems Engineers to carry out the commissioning, regular servicing and reactive maintenance of our clients' Intruder, CCTV, Access Control and associated systems. The ideal candidates will be experienced in IP Security Systems and Large Scale Integrated Projects. 40 hour working week + paid travel + overtime + on call

Typical Responsibilities

• To work with and under instruction from Security Administration Team Members, complying with work instructions, company policies and Health and Safety procedures
• To maintain a working knowledge of circuits and measuring devices and an understanding and respect of electrical circuits as well as undertaking training courses where necessary
• The commissioning of new Security and associated systems as well as additions to existing systems
• Routine servicing and reactive maintenance of our clients' Security Alarm and associated systems
• Maintain an accurate and high standard of Customer, Company and Personal paperwork
• Undertake 'On-Call' duties as part of your Area Team
• Any other duties commensurate with the role

Qualifications

• A full Electrical based qualification such as City & Guilds, ONC, HNC etc

Experience

• Experience of working within the Electronic Security Engineering sector
• A working knowledge of electrical circuits & measuring devices
• Experience of servicing and commissioning electronic security systems and associated systems
• Familiarity with safe working practices and Health & Safety requirements

• Competent using technology such as laptops, measuring devices, smart phones etc
• Ability to maintain accurate records whilst regularly submitting customer and company paperwork in a timely manner
• Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a team

• The ability to communicate effectively with staff at varying levels throughout the company

Other

• A thorough understanding of relevant British Standards, in particular National Security Inspectorate requirements
• A genuine interest in your work with an enthusiasm and willingness to learn
• A full and valid driving licence
