Job summary

Protec Security in London is seeking Electronic Security Systems Engineers to commission, service and maintain Intruder, CCTV, Access Control and related systems for commercial applications. The ideal candidate will be experienced in IP security systems and large scale projects, with a full electrical qualification and a commitment to health and safety practices.

40 hour week plus travel, overtime and on-call duties.

Qualifications

• A full electrical qualification such as City & Guilds, ONC, HNC, etc.
• Experience in electronic security engineering and IP systems.
• Familiarity with safety and Health & Safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Commission new security systems and additions to existing setups.
• Carry out routine servicing and reactive maintenance of alarms, CCTV and access systems.
• Maintain accurate customer, company and personal paperwork to a high standard.
• Work with the Security Administration Team and follow health and safety policies.
• Undertake on-call duties as part of the Area Team.

Job description

Protec Security is an NSI 'Gold' accredited security company, offering an extensive range of technically advanced, IP security systems, including access control, intruder detection, CCTV and intercom systems for the full spectrum of commercial applications. Protec Security have an opportunity for Electronic Security Systems Engineers to carry out the commissioning, regular servicing and reactive maintenance of our clients' Intruder, CCTV, Access Control and associated systems. The ideal candidates will be experienced in IP Security Systems and Large Scale Integrated Projects. 40 hour working week + paid travel + overtime + on call

Typical Responsibilities

• To work with and under instruction from Security Administration Team Members, complying with work instructions, company policies and Health and Safety procedures
• To maintain a working knowledge of circuits and measuring devices and an understanding and respect of electrical circuits as well as undertaking training courses where necessary
• The commissioning of new Security and associated systems as well as additions to existing systems
• Routine servicing and reactive maintenance of our clients' Security Alarm and associated systems
• Maintain an accurate and high standard of Customer, Company and Personal paperwork
• Undertake 'On-Call' duties as part of your Area Team
• Any other duties commensurate with the role

Qualifications

• A full Electrical based qualification such as City & Guilds, ONC, HNC etc

Experience

• Experience of working within the Electronic Security Engineering sector
• A working knowledge of electrical circuits & measuring devices
• Experience of servicing and commissioning electronic security systems and associated systems
• Familiarity with safe working practices and Health & Safety requirements

• Excellent customer service skills
• Competent using technology such as laptops, measuring devices, smart phones etc
• Ability to maintain accurate records whilst regularly submitting customer and company paperwork in a timely manner
• Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a team
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• The ability to communicate effectively with staff at varying levels throughout the company

Other

• A thorough understanding of relevant British Standards, in particular National Security Inspectorate requirements
