Our client is dedicated to helping homeless people across London to find secure accommodation and work towards a positive future. They work tirelessly to support homeless people to recover from their personal issues and break down the barriers that they face. They recognise that homelessness is much more than just a housing issue, so they provide a range of accommodation and support services to help people reach their full potential.

Our client is currently looking for a Team Leader to join their passionate team and support the delivery of their outreach service.

Our client is seeking a passionate Integrated Outreach Team Leader to provide effective leadership, motivation and support to a team of dedicated Rough Sleeper Outreach Workers and Rough Sleeper Navigators, ensuring that they continue to provide a range of outcome-focused intervention services, which will enable rough sleepers to leave the street and take their first steps towards lasting, genuine independence.

Specifically, You Will

  • Provide visible leadership to the Outreach Team, providing a positive, supportive environment for your team to thrive.
  • Management of a team of Rough Sleeper Outreach Workers and Rough Sleeper Navigators, as they provide much needed services to rough sleepers.
  • Management of all HR related processes in line with HR policies.
  • Ensuring expenses incurred within the team are in line with organisational policy.
  • Ensuring adherence to petty cash processes.
  • Ensuring high quality performance of staff within your team and achievement of key performance indicators.
  • Day-to-day operational oversight of your designated Outreach Team.
  • Ensuring your team delivers outreach interventions/services in line with commissioner expectations, meeting the needs of rough sleepers our client supports.
  • Acting as a point of escalation from your Team to resolve concerns raised by rough sleepers our client supports and partner agencies.
  • Ensuring all steps are taken to ensure the health and safety of staff and rough sleepers our client supports.
  • Ensuring the delivery of a high quality, evidence-based outreach service including undertaking and overseeing quality assurance and audit activity.
  • Oversight of safeguarding activity to ensure people our client supports and children/vulnerable adults are safeguarded.
  • Developing effective partnerships across the organisation and with key local organisations to enhance service delivery.
  • Representing our client at internal and external meetings.
  • Ensuring support is provided which address cultural, complex and challenging needs - documented within their Risk, Needs Assessment and Action Plans.
  • Identify and target rough sleepers in shift patterns, including those unwilling to initially engage.
  • Manage a caseload, offering consistent and ongoing support.

About You

To be successful in this role, candidates will have to demonstrate:

  • Previous experience of working in outreach services and an understanding of support needs, including: mental health, substance misuse, harm minimisation, etc
  • Be able to show empathy, passion and commitment to the needs and aspirations of homeless and vulnerable people
  • Previous experience of working with vulnerable people
  • To participate in shift work to enable maximum contact with service users
  • Being proactive in working in a multi-agency context, and referring appropriately to support agencies
  • Ability to record accurate notes on various databases in a timely fashion, and fill out forms

Desirable

  • Previous experience managing a similar service/team

This is a full-time role, which will include working shift patterns to reflect the clients rough sleeping habits. (Driving licence preferred)
