Job summary

Davies is seeking a Financial Services Coach to guide and develop a cohort of apprentices, ensuring progress aligns with quality standards and KPIs. You will provide tailored support throughout each apprentice’s journey, helping them achieve milestones and qualifications outlined to the apprenticeship standard.

You will build strong relationships with line managers and employer stakeholders to support development and performance expectations.

Qualifications

  • Certificate/Diploma in Insurance (CII) is essential.
  • Experience in coaching, tutoring or training in insurance industry advantageous.
  • Capability to manage, coach and develop apprentices effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct initial skills assessments to tailor learning journeys.
  • Deliver induction presentations and onboarding administration.
  • Facilitate monthly progress meetings with apprentices, in workplace and remotely.
  • Lead group training sessions aligned with curriculum and Ofsted requirements.
  • Respond to apprentices’ remote queries and provide guidance.
  • Track progress and assess milestones throughout the programme.
  • Contribute to improvement projects to enhance delivery and learner experience.
  • Maintain accurate documentation evidencing learner progress.
  • Contextualise learning outcomes to the apprentice’s role.
  • Guide apprentices in linking work-based experiences to the standard.
  • Set activities to develop competencies aligned with the framework.
  • Coach on portfolio evidence for End Point Assessment.
  • Support apprentices toward qualifications and EPA readiness.
  • Escalate progress or engagement concerns to line manager.
  • Collaborate with apprentices and line managers to meet goals and end dates.
  • Provide coaching for EPA preparation.
  • Participate in development and standardisation meetings.

Description

As a Financial Services Coach, you will play a pivotal role in guiding and developing a cohort of apprentices, ensuring their progress aligns with quality standards and key performance indicators. You will provide tailored support throughout each apprentice’s learning journey, helping them achieve critical milestones including qualifications and competencies outlined to the apprenticeship standard. Central to your role will be building strong relationships with line managers and other employer stakeholders to support the apprentice’s development, manage time commitments effectively, and ensure alignment with the employer’s performance expectations

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct initial skills assessments ("skills radar" calls) to identify each apprentice’s starting point and tailor their learning journey accordingly.
  • Deliver engaging induction presentations and manage all associated onboarding administration.
  • Facilitate monthly progress meetings with apprentices, both in the workplace and remotely, to monitor development and provide ongoing support.
  • Lead group training sessions in alignment with the organisation’s curriculum intent and Ofsted requirements.
  • Respond promptly to apprentices’ remote queries and provide guidance as needed.
  • Track and assess apprentice progress against agreed objectives and key milestones throughout the programme.
  • Contribute to business improvement through bespoke projects that enhance delivery and learner experience.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation to evidence learner progress, including tracking off-the-job training activities.
  • Contextualise learning outcomes to reflect the apprentice’s specific role and working environment.
  • Guide apprentices in linking their work-based experiences to the knowledge, skills, and behaviours outlined in the apprenticeship standard.
  • Set meaningful activities that support the development of competencies aligned with the apprenticeship framework.
  • Coach apprentices on selecting and presenting appropriate evidence for their portfolio in preparation for End Point Assessment (EPA).
  • Support apprentices in working towards and achieving their professional qualifications.
  • Escalate concerns regarding apprentice progress or employer engagement to your line manager in a timely and constructive manner.
  • Collaborate with apprentices and their line managers to ensure timely achievement of programme goals and planned end dates.
  • Provide coaching and preparation support for apprentices approaching their End Point Assessment.
  • Participate in development and standardisation meetings as required to maintain consistency and quality across delivery
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
  • Certificate/Diploma in Insurance (CII), essential
  • Experience of being in a similar role (Coach, Tutor, Trainer) and/or seasoned Insurance Industry experience, eg Underwriting, Broker, Claims, etc
  • If the latter, experience of nurturing, training, coaching, and/or team management is a must have!
  • Apprenticeship experience, advantageous
  • Functional skills in maths and English at a minimum of Level 2
  • Self-motivated, focused, and enthusiastic with the ability to work using own initiative
  • A passion for working with and supporting learners to achieve their goals
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentational skills
  • Excellent administrative, organisational and IT skills and abilities
  • Commitment to own continuous professional development
