Job summary

Anglian Water in Huntingdon seeks a Technical Development Scientist to lead instrumentation management and methodological development within our Central Laboratory. You will validate equipment, support investigations, and ensure compliance with quality systems while promoting health and safety across teams.

The role requires detail-oriented analysis, strong communication, and a proactive approach to continuous improvement in a dynamic laboratory environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in a scientific subject.
• Experience in laboratory settings and with instrumentation.
• Understanding of regulatory standards and QMS.
• Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
• Confident communicator and influencer.
• Continuous improvement and learning attitude.

Responsibilities

• Manage and validate laboratory instrumentation and methodologies
• Support investigations into instrument performance and non-conforming work
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of instrumentation and analytical techniques
• Ensure compliance with quality management systems and regulatory standards
• Champion health, safety, and wellbeing in all laboratory activities
• Provide training and support to analytical teams
