Job summary

Anglian Water Group Ltd. in the United Kingdom is seeking a Technical Development Scientist to be the go-to expert for instrumentation and methodologies within the Central Laboratory in Huntingdon.

The role reports to the Technical Development Manager and supports equipment validation, method development, and scientific investigations. You will manage laboratory instrumentation, support investigations, maintain up-to-date knowledge on analytical techniques, and ensure compliance with quality

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a scientific subject.
  • Experience in laboratory settings and with equipment/software.
  • Understanding of regulatory standards and QMS.
  • Analytical mindset and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and validate laboratory instrumentation and methodologies.
  • Support investigations into instrument performance and non-conforming work.
  • Maintain knowledge of instrumentation and analytical techniques.

Job description

Technical Development Scientist Circa £38,184 dependent on skills and experience Permanent, full time (37 hours) with flexibility for part time Huntingdon – Central Laboratory Dive into a world of opportunity and join our team! As a Quality Environment & Assurance Technical Development Scientist (Technical Specialist), you will be the ‘go to’ expert for advice on instrumentation and methodologies. Reporting to the Technical Development Manager, you will support the purchase and validation of equipment, develop methodologies, and provide scientific support for investigations and compliance. You will manage instrumentation, support investigations, maintain scientific knowledge, and champion health, safety, and wellbeing. The role requires analytical thinking, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate and influence across teams and with external suppliers.

Key responsibilities
  • Manage and validate laboratory instrumentation and methodologies
  • Support investigations into instrument performance and non-conforming work
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of instrumentation and analytical techniques
  • Ensure compliance with quality management systems and regulatory standards
  • Champion health, safety, and wellbeing in all laboratory activities
