Responsibilities

  • Balance the demands of users and technical knowledge to deliver a high-quality support service to the business while adhering to ISO 17025 quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Assess current and future LIMS requirements with the Analytical Lab services head and managers.
  • Work with laboratory and sampling teams to identify traceable and critical steps for each method.
  • Ensure Labware protocols and processes are controlled and documented to comply with document control requirements.
  • Drive continual improvement of lab processes through best use of Labware LIMS to ensure quality and efficiency improvements.
  • Manage business continuity and risk for the role, capturing day-to-day Labware administration duties.
  • Manage user access and control, ensuring impartiality requirements for the laboratory are adhered to.
  • Configure quality control charts.
  • Ensure all changes are managed through the Quality Change Process.
  • Provide timely communications to interested parties regarding system updates.

Job description

System Administrator – Circa £38,692 dependent on skills and experience. Permanent, full‑time (37 hours) with flexibility for part‑time working in Huntingdon. Join our Analytical Services team to deliver a timely, agile, and accurate support service, collaborating with partners to support the analytical functions and promote long‑term sustainable operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Balance the demands of users and technical knowledge to deliver a high‑quality support service to the business while adhering to ISO 17025 quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Assess current and future LIMS requirements together with the Analytical Lab services head and managers.
  • Work with laboratory and sampling teams to identify traceable and critical steps for each method.
  • Ensure Labware protocols and processes are adequately controlled and documented to comply with document control requirements.
  • Drive continual improvement of lab processes through best use of Labware LIMS to ensure quality and efficiency improvements.
  • Manage business continuity and risk mitigation for the role, capturing all day‑to‑day Labware administration duties.
  • Manage user access and control, ensuring impartiality requirements for the laboratory are adhered to.
  • Configure quality control charts.
  • Ensure all changes are managed through the Quality Change Process.
  • Provide timely communications to interested parties regarding system updates.
