Job summary

Anglian Water Services is recruiting for a Storage Point Scientist to join the Quality, Environment and Assurance team across Huntingdon and other sites. You will ensure optimum water quality from storage points and mitigate risks ahead of time, working onsite and using site data to deliver wholesome water to customers.

The role involves supporting drinking water quality reporting, DWSP risk management, and maintenance programmes, with 4 days per week on site and out-of-hours standby; a degree

Qualifications

• Educated to a degree level in relevant scientific subject or equivalent.
• Excellent data interpretation skills.
• Interpersonal skills to build rapport with operational colleagues and communicate actions required effectively.
• Able to mentor those around you to improve their skills and understanding of water processes.

Responsibilities

• Undertake comprehensive onsite water quality investigations and input information into the DWSP Risk Portal.
• Support drinking water quality aspects of reporting associated with storage point legal instruments.
• Deliver scientific aspects of storage point maintenance programmes such as the storage point cleaning programme.
• Actively seek to optimise assets to provide effective storage of water.
• Be the key point of contact for local operational teams for water quality risk assessment and sign off of material approvals.
• Provide out of hours Process scientific standby cover and advice on assets or areas of the company.
• Work towards chartership and/or CPD programme.
