Job summary

Circle Health Group’s Thornbury Hospital in Sheffield is seeking an Instrument Coordinator to join the Theatre team. The role is full-time, 37.5 hours per week, with a flexible shift pattern.

You will oversee surgical instrumentation preparation, ensure instruments are clean and delivered on time, assist with consumables ordering, and work closely with theatre staff and suppliers to maintain stock and compliance.

Instrument Coordinator

The Thornbury Hospital 37.5 Hours & Permanent Salary: £24,947.00 per year Thornbury Hospital in Sheffield is part of Circle Health Group, Britain's leading provider of independent healthcare with a nationwide network of hospitals & clinics, performing more complex surgery than any other private healthcare provider in the country. We have an opportunity for a Instrument Coordinator to join their team of staff in the Theatre department. This is a full time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern.

Duties
  • Oversee the preparation and availability of surgical instrumentation, liaising with internal decontamination services and external hospitals where required.
  • Ensure all instruments are clean, functional, and delivered to the correct locations in a timely manner to meet daily theatre schedules.
  • Assist in the ordering, rotation, and replenishment of theatre consumables, ensuring alignment with Circle Health Group’s preferred suppliers and procurement policies.
  • Support the theatre team in delivering seamless surgical services, contributing to improved patient outcomes and satisfaction.
  • Work closely with theatre practitioners, sterile services, procurement, and external providers to ensure clarity and continuity in equipment and stock availability.
  • Ensure all instrumentation handling complies with hospital policies, infection prevention protocols, and regulatory guidelines.
