Job description

Innovation is at the heart of everything we do at Siemens Mobility. We are on a quest to solve the most complex mobility challenges with groundbreaking technology and creative solutions. As part of our diverse and driven team, you will have the opportunity to shape the future of transportation. Imagine contributing to innovations that touch millions of lives – ready to make that a reality?

Siemens Mobility is a global market leader in rail infrastructure, shaping the future of transportation through cutting-edge technology, digital innovation, and sustainable engineering. As part of our Rail Infrastructure business, you’ll join a team that is transforming how people and goods move, making rail travel safer, smarter, greener, and more efficient.

We are recruiting for Installation Managers to lead and coordinate signalling installation and construction activities across major rail infrastructure projects. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring works are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and compliance. Working within complex railway environments including Network Rail, London Underground, and major infrastructure programmes, you will oversee resources, manage installation teams, and collaborate closely with project stakeholders to drive successful project delivery.

This role is classified as safety critical and is subject to a pre-employment medical assessment, which must be successfully completed prior to start.

You'll make a difference by...

  • Leading the safe delivery of signalling installation and construction works, championing a positive safety culture and ensuring compliance with company standards, industry regulations, and environmental requirements.
  • Driving programme delivery to meet project timescales, quality expectations, and budget objectives, whilst identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and performance.
  • Managing signalling installation activities and coordinating with supervisors, project teams, and other disciplines to ensure effective delivery, avoid clashes, and maximise project outcomes.
  • Planning and optimising resources, labour, plant, and materials, ensuring operational readiness and the effective utilisation of project resources.
  • Developing, supporting, and assessing site teams, ensuring individuals are competent, appropriately supervised, and equipped to perform their roles safely and effectively.
  • Supporting project governance and reporting, contributing to programme development, commercial considerations, management system documentation, and the investigation and resolution of safety or operational issues.

Your role profile may vary from time to time in accordance with business needs. Your annual objective setting with your line manager will outline any additional responsibilities required to meet business or individual development needs for the forthcoming financial year.

What you’ll need to succeed…

  • Proven signalling installation and construction experience, with a strong technical background and practical knowledge of delivering signalling projects in complex rail environments.
  • Relevant IRSE licence and Construction Site Safety competence, with a thorough understanding of industry legislation, standards, and safe systems of work.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to effectively lead, motivate, and coordinate teams across multiple work activities and locations.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities, enabling you to build effective relationships with colleagues, customers, suppliers, and multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Experience planning and managing resources, including labour, plant, and materials, together with the ability to coordinate complex logistical activities to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Flexibility to travel and work away from your home depot when required, supporting the operational needs of projects across the business.
