Job summary

Birch Wood School in Melton Mowbray is seeking a Class Teacher on a fixed-term contract until August 2027. The role is 0.6 FTE (19.5 hours a week) within the Main Pay Scale M1-M6 for the 4–19 age range.

The post offers a supportive, collaborative environment and opportunities to contribute to blended learning approaches. The ideal candidate will have a degree and QTS, alongside a commitment to inspiring learning and a strong understanding of how children learn.

Qualifications

• Qualified to degree level including Qualified Teacher Status.
• Experience Teaching experience with the age range applying for.

Responsibilities

• Deliver the curriculum as relevant to the age and ability group/subject/s that you teach.
• Be responsible for the preparation and development of teaching materials, teaching programmes and pastoral arrangements as appropriate.
• Be accountable for the attainment, progress and outcomes of pupils’ you teach
• Be aware of pupils’ capabilities, their prior knowledge and plan teaching and differentiate appropriately to build on this demonstrating knowledge and 2 of 5 understanding of how pupils learn
