Job summary

Birch Wood School in Melton Mowbray is seeking a dedicated Cover Supervisor to support learning across classes when a teacher is absent. You will supervise pupils, implement pre-set work, maintain a safe environment and contribute to high-quality teaching and learning.

This fixed-term role runs until the end of the academic year 2027, is part-time (19.5 hours per week, 52 weeks per year), and sits on the Grade 7 pay scale (£27,717–£29,076 per year).

Qualifications

• NVQ 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning or STL Level 3 NOS relevant.
• Level 2 maths/numeracy and English/literacy or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a class in the absence of a teacher and ensure pupils are engaged with set work.
• Liaise with teachers regarding work set and provide feedback on pupil engagement.
• Help maintain a safe and secure learning environment following lesson plans.
