Birch Wood (Melton Area Special School) is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to join our dedicated team. You will support teaching staff, assist pupils with learning activities, and help create a nurturing learning environment to enable every child to reach their potential.

The role requires an NVQ Level 2 in STL or equivalent, experience in schools, and strong communication and safeguarding knowledge. Term-time plus INSET days, 32.5 hours per week, permanent contract, with a clear salary

Qualifications

• Qualifications: NVQ Level 2 in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent)
• Experience: Previous experience supporting teaching and learning in a school setting
• Skills & Knowledge: Understanding of child protection and health & safety procedures; strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to motivate and engage students.

Responsabilités

• Support teachers in preparing and delivering engaging lessons.
• Assist individuals and small groups with learning activities.
• Provide feedback on pupil engagement and progress.
• Encourage positive behaviour and emotional development.
• Prepare and use learning materials, including ICT resources.
• Help create stimulating classroom displays.
