Job summary

Sense College Peterborough seeks an Education Support Worker to assist learners with developing communication, independence and daily living skills within a supportive educational setting. The role involves dressing and personal care duties and contributing to EHCP plans.

You will work alongside education colleagues to enable inclusive teaching, track progress, and participate in learner reviews. The post is part-time (28 hours across four days) in Peterborough.

Qualifications

• A good level of general education including literacy and numeracy to Level 2.
• Willingness to work towards a Level 3 teaching support qualification.
• Experience or willingness to work with learners with SEND.
• Ability to contribute to EHCP development and monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Support learners to develop skills, independence and confidence towards adulthood.
• Assist teaching staff and support learning in classroom activities.
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to reviews and EHCPs.
• Support learners with dressing and personal care as required.
• Promote positive behaviour and learner progression.

Education

Level 3 teaching support qualification

British Sign Language (BSL) Level 1+

PTLLS Level 3

Health and Social Care Diploma

IT qualification Level 2
