Job summary

Oak Tree School, part of Maiden Erlegh Trust, seeks an inspirational SEN Primary Teacher to join our specialist team in a nurturing and ambitious environment where every achievement is celebrated and each pupil’s strengths are recognised.

You will deliver high-quality teaching for primary-aged pupils with SEND, plan personalised learning experiences, and collaborate with therapists and other professionals to help pupils progress academically, socially and emotionally.

Qualifications

• Qualified teacher with experience teaching primary pupils.
• Strong SEND knowledge, especially ASD and complex needs.
• Able to adapt teaching to a wide range of learning needs.
• Excellent classroom and behaviour management.
• Committed to inclusive education and raising aspirations.
• Effective teamwork with multidisciplinary colleagues.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Enthusiastic, reflective and engaged in CPD.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality teaching and learning for primary pupils with SEND.
• Plan engaging, personalised learning experiences reflecting individual strengths and needs.
• Support pupils to progress academically, socially and emotionally.
• Collaborate with Teaching Assistants, therapists and other professionals.
• Implement AAC to ensure all pupils can access learning.
• Monitor and track progress, contributing to EHCP reviews.
• Create a positive, safe learning environment.
• Build partnerships with parents, carers and external agencies.
