Job summary

Oak Tree School, part of Maiden Erlegh Trust, seeks an inspirational SEN Primary Teacher to join our specialist team in a nurturing and ambitious environment where every achievement is celebrated and each pupil’s strengths are recognised.

You will deliver high-quality teaching for primary-aged pupils with SEND, plan personalised learning experiences, and collaborate with therapists and other professionals to help pupils progress academically, socially and emotionally.

Qualifications

Qualified teacher with experience teaching primary pupils.
Strong SEND knowledge, especially ASD and complex needs.
Able to adapt teaching to a wide range of learning needs.
Excellent classroom and behaviour management.

Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality teaching and learning for primary pupils with SEND.

About The Role

Deliver high-quality teaching and learning for primary-aged pupils with Special Educational Needs.
Plan engaging and personalised learning experiences that reflect individual strengths and needs.
Support pupils to make excellent progress academically, socially and emotionally.
Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, therapists and other professionals.
Implement communication strategies, including Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), to ensure all pupils can access learning.
Monitor, assess and track progress, contributing to Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) reviews and targets.
Create a positive, safe and nurturing learning environment where pupils can develop confidence and independence.
Build strong partnerships with parents, carers and external agencies to secure the best outcomes for pupils.

About You

Is a qualified teacher with experience of teaching primary-aged pupils.
Has a strong understanding of SEND, particularly autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and associated complex needs.
Can adapt teaching approaches to meet a wide range of learning needs.
Demonstrates excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
Is committed to inclusive education and raising aspirations for every pupil.
Works effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Is enthusiastic, reflective and committed to continuous professional development.
