Job summary

Oak Tree School, part of Maiden Erlegh Trust, is seeking an inspirational SEN Primary Teacher to join our specialist team. You will deliver high-quality teaching to primary pupils with SEND and develop personalised learning that reflects individual strengths.

Collaborating with Teaching Assistants, therapists and other professionals, you will implement AAC strategies, monitor progress and contribute to EHCP reviews.

Qualifications

• Qualified teacher with experience of teaching primary-aged pupils.
• Strong understanding of SEND, particularly ASD and complex needs.
• Able to adapt teaching approaches to meet a wide range of learning needs.
• Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
• Committed to inclusive education and raising aspirations for every pupil.
• Works effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Enthusiastic, reflective and committed to continuing professional development.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality teaching and learning for primary-aged pupils with SEND.
• Plan engaging and personalised learning experiences reflecting individual strengths and needs.
• Support pupils to make progress academically, socially and emotionally.
• Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, therapists and other professionals.
• Implement AAC strategies to ensure all pupils can access learning.
• Monitor, assess and track progress; contribute to EHCP reviews and targets.
• Create a positive, safe and nurturing learning environment.
• Build strong partnerships with parents, carers and external agencies.
