Job summary

Downsend, part of the Cognita family, seeks a motivated Science Teacher to deliver high-quality lessons across Years 5-13 and to contribute to an ambitious curriculum. You will work with the Head of Science to plan engaging modules, assess progress, and provide feedback while maintaining records and safeguarding standards.

The role is permanent and part-time with a January 2027 start, offering involvement in scholars programmes, trips, and co-curricular activities within a supportive school

Qualifications

• Qualified teacher with the ability to teach Science across Years 5-13.
• Strong academic background.
• Excellent communication, organisational and ICT skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver inspiring Science lessons across Years 5-13.
• Assess and monitor pupil progress and provide constructive feedback.
• Maintain accurate pupil records and documentation.
• Contribute to the wider life of the School through enrichment activities and clubs.
• Support safeguarding, health and safety and professional practice.
