Job summary

Cowes Enterprise College, An Ormiston Academy, is seeking a part-time Teacher of Science (0.4FTE) to deliver high-quality lessons across KS3 and KS4 in a vibrant, inclusive environment.

You will plan engaging science lessons, develop practical and scientific skills, and work with colleagues to raise attainment. The academy offers professional development, supportive leadership, and automatic pay progression.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status and a relevant degree, with the ability to teach Science across KS3 and KS4.
• Strong subject knowledge and a track record of, or clear potential for, high-quality teaching and excellent results.
• A commitment to your own professional development and to sharing good practice with colleagues.
• The enthusiasm and communication skills to motivate and inspire students, and a genuine commitment to raising the aspirations of the whole school community.

Responsibilities

• Plan and teach inspiring science lessons, spark students' curiosity and build their practical and scientific skills, and help raise standards of attainment and achievement across the department.
• Working closely with colleagues in the Science team, you will help ensure every student achieves their best, whatever their starting point.
