Job summary

Academics is seeking a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive mainstream primary school in Gloucester, working closely with a pupil who requires additional learning support. Salary will be determined by qualifications and experience, with a daily rate in the £89–£100 range. The role is temporary and based in Gloucester, Gloucestershire, starting ASAP.

Qualifications

• Enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to obtain one).
• Experience working with children with SEN (ASD, ADHD, speech & language) desirable.
• Two professional references.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 tailored support for a pupil with SEN to access the curriculum.
• Implement strategies outlined in the pupil's education plan.
• Support emotional, social, and academic development throughout the day.
• Collaborate with class teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals.

What We’re Looking For:

Prior experience working with children, ideally in a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant capacity.
Background in SEN support (ASD, ADHD, speech & language, etc.) is highly desirable.
A caring, patient, and adaptable approach to supporting children with diverse needs.
A valid Enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to obtain one).
Two professional references.
