Riseley Green School in Reading, Berkshire, seeks an inspiring Primary SEN Teacher who understands how primary pupils learn, develop and build foundations for their future. You’ll join a specialist team with small classes and personalised learning, adapting the curriculum to each child using creativity and different approaches.

This role is for an experienced teacher who values freedom to teach differently while applying strong knowledge of the Primary curriculum.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Experience planning engaging primary lessons.
• Strong knowledge of the primary curriculum and adapting it for diverse needs.
• Creative and flexible approach to teaching.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver creative, engaging lessons aligned to the primary curriculum.
• Tailor learning to pupils' starting points and individual needs.
• Adapt curriculum and teaching approaches for a range of SEN.
• Create a nurturing, structured classroom where pupils feel safe.
• Make learning practical and meaningful while maintaining high expectations.
• Support pupil confidence, independence, communication and wellbeing.
• Monitor progress and adapt teaching to maximise outcomes.
• Collaborate with Teaching Assistants, therapists, families and professionals.
• Celebrate progress and help each pupil recognise abilities.
