Riseley Green School in Reading, Berkshire, is seeking an inspiring Primary SEN Teacher to join a specialist team supporting autistic pupils aged 4-16. You will deliver the Primary curriculum with a focus on individual learning needs and collaboration with therapists and families.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Experience planning and delivering engaging lessons for primary aged pupils.
• Strong understanding of the Primary curriculum and how to adapt it for different learning needs.
• Creative and flexible approach to teaching.
• Commitment to safeguarding, inclusion and achieving the best possible outcomes for every pupil.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver creative and engaging lessons aligned to the Primary curriculum.
• Use knowledge of Primary teaching to create learning appropriate to pupils' starting points.
• Adapt the curriculum and teaching approach to meet a range of Special Educational Needs.
• Create a nurturing and structured classroom where pupils feel safe, understood and ready to learn.
• Monitor progress and adapt teaching to maximise outcomes.
• Work closely with Teaching Assistants, therapists, families and other professionals.
• Celebrate progress and help every pupil recognise what they are capable of achieving.
