Job summary

Teaching Personnel are seeking an enthusiastic Maths Teacher to join a welcoming middle school in Dorchester from December 2026 or January 2027. You will teach Mathematics across Years 5 to 8, helping students build confidence and problem-solving skills.

The ideal candidate holds QTS or an equivalent qualification, with KS2/KS3 Maths experience and strong classroom management. ECTs are welcome to apply and a supportive staff team awaits.

Qualifications

• Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
• Experience teaching Mathematics within KS2 and/or KS3.
• Strong classroom management skills.
• Passion for raising attainment and engagement in Maths.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• ECTs and experienced teachers are welcome to apply.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging Maths lessons to students across Years 5-8.
• Plan, prepare and assess lessons in line with curriculum expectations.
• Differentiate learning to support and challenge all pupils.
• Track and monitor pupil progress, providing effective feedback.
• Establish positive behaviour expectations and strong classroom routines.
• Work closely with colleagues, parents and support staff to promote student success.
• Contribute to the wider life of the school community.
