Job summary

Alder Coppice Primary School is recruiting a Level 2 Teaching Assistant to support pupils in Key Stage 1 and possibly EYFS. The role is 19.5 hours (Wed, Thu, Fri) or 32.5 hours per week, starting November 2026 on a fixed-term basis until 31 July 2027.

The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, committed and experienced with children who have diverse needs, and will contribute to safeguarding and ongoing school improvement.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Teaching Assistant in a primary school.
• Experience in Key Stage 1 and preferably EYFS.
• Potential experience in pastoral or SEND settings.
• Proven ability to use strategies to raise standards.
• Be inspirational, creative and committed to school improvement.

Responsibilities

• Assist teaching staff in KS1/EYFS to support learning.
• Support children with a variety of needs and adapt activities.
• Contribute to a pastoral/SEND provision if required.
• Work as part of a hard-working, supportive school team.
