Job summary

Philosophy Education is recruiting a Teacher of Science for a Rochester secondary school to start September 2026. The role covers KS3 and KS4 with the potential for full-time or part-time hours and a September/October 2026 start.

You will deliver engaging Science lessons across Biology, Chemistry and Physics, foster enquiry, and contribute to the department's ongoing development within a supportive school community.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Experience teaching Science to KS3 and KS4.
• Ability to teach Biology, Chemistry and Physics at KS3; specialism welcomed.
• Excellent subject knowledge and enthusiasm for Science.
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging KS3/KS4 Science lessons across KS3 and KS4.
• Inspire students through practical investigations and scientific enquiry.
• Plan and deliver lessons for learners of all abilities.
• Assess, monitor and track student progress to secure excellent outcomes.
• Develop students' analytical, investigative and problem-solving skills.
• Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment where all students can achieve.
• Contribute to curriculum development and departmental initiatives.
• Support enrichment opportunities including STEM activities and science clubs.
