Job summary

Marchant Recruitment is helping a mixed secondary school in Ipswich recruit a committed Science Teacher to deliver KS3-4 across Biology, Chemistry and Physics within a supportive department.

The successful candidate will plan engaging lessons, assess progress, differentiate for all abilities and contribute to resource development while helping pupils build practical and investigative skills for future STEM opportunities.

Qualifications

• A Science Teacher able to teach across Key Stages 3 and 4.
• QTS, a PGCE or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Solid knowledge of Biology, Chemistry and Physics at the relevant curriculum level.
• Ability to deliver engaging lessons with practical and investigative learning.
• Strong classroom management and effective communication.
• Experience differentiating lessons and assessing student progress.
• Commitment to safeguarding, inclusion and high academic expectations.
• Legal right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging lessons across KS3 and KS4 in Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
• Monitor pupil progress through regular assessment, marking and feedback.
• Plan lessons combining explanations, demonstrations, independent activities and collaboration.
• Contribute to teaching resources and develop instructional strategies.
• Encourage questioning, evidence evaluation and application of knowledge.
• Support diverse learners and uphold safeguarding and inclusion standards.
