Key duties and responsibilities
- Manage a mixed case load of formal insolvency appointments and assist team members as needed.
- Administer insolvency cases from initial advice to case closure, including Administrations, CVLs, MVLs, Compulsory Liquidations, CVAs, and occasionally, Bankruptcies.
- Address and adjudicate creditors' claims, including retention of title, secured, preferential, and unsecured claims.
- Report to secured creditors.
- Assist in ongoing trading on site where required.
- Prepare documentation for statutory meetings.
- Support employees with claims and liaise with redundancy payments services.
- Handle day-to-day correspondence, including non-standard communications.
- Maintain accurate books and records inventories, ensuring their safekeeping and proper storage.
- Conduct statutory investigations and pursue antecedent transactions.
- Process banking and cheque requests to ensure correct handling of estate monies.
- Complete VAT and Corporation tax returns.
- Ensure compliance with statutory legislation, including SIPS.
- Maintain and update IPS case tasks and diaries.
- Coordinate with professional agents, solicitors, and accountants.
- Prepare supporting documents for sale contracts.
- Update and manage case checklists.
- Attend and assist at meetings both in and out of the office as required.
- Participate in internal and external marketing events.
- Delegate tasks and provide training and support to junior staff members.
Reporting, relationships & management
- Support and train other staff members, including delegation to assistants.
- Assist other case executives as required.
- Report case progress to IP.
Qualifications & experience
- AAT or CPI qualification would be advantageous but is not mandatory.
- Experience managing corporate formal insolvency appointments within an IP firm is required.
- Knowledge of IPS Cloud is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Proficient IT skills, including experience with Excel, Word, and IPS.
- Maintain high professional standards and conduct.
- Be self-motivated and stay updated with changes in legislation and best practices.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with flexibility.
- Ability to anticipate and communicate potential problems effectively.
- Confident communicator with good interpersonal, telephone, and letter-writing skills.
- Responsible for work quality, managing workload and deadlines effectively.
- Keep IP informed of progress and potential issues.
- Show enthusiasm and commitment, seeing tasks through to completion.
- Represent the firm positively at networking events.
