Job description

To work within a team to ensure an efficient and professional delivery of corporate and personal insolvency services to clients.

Key duties and responsibilities
  1. Manage a mixed case load of formal insolvency appointments and assist team members as needed.
  2. Administer insolvency cases from initial advice to case closure, including Administrations, CVLs, MVLs, Compulsory Liquidations, CVAs, and occasionally, Bankruptcies.
  3. Address and adjudicate creditors' claims, including retention of title, secured, preferential, and unsecured claims.
  4. Report to secured creditors.
  5. Assist in ongoing trading on site where required.
  6. Prepare documentation for statutory meetings.
  7. Support employees with claims and liaise with redundancy payments services.
  8. Handle day-to-day correspondence, including non-standard communications.
  9. Maintain accurate books and records inventories, ensuring their safekeeping and proper storage.
  10. Conduct statutory investigations and pursue antecedent transactions.
  11. Process banking and cheque requests to ensure correct handling of estate monies.
  12. Complete VAT and Corporation tax returns.
  13. Ensure compliance with statutory legislation, including SIPS.
  14. Maintain and update IPS case tasks and diaries.
  15. Coordinate with professional agents, solicitors, and accountants.
  16. Prepare supporting documents for sale contracts.
  17. Update and manage case checklists.
  18. Attend and assist at meetings both in and out of the office as required.
  19. Participate in internal and external marketing events.
  20. Delegate tasks and provide training and support to junior staff members.
Reporting, relationships & management
  1. Support and train other staff members, including delegation to assistants.
  2. Assist other case executives as required.
  3. Report case progress to IP.
Qualifications & experience
  1. AAT or CPI qualification would be advantageous but is not mandatory.
  2. Experience managing corporate formal insolvency appointments within an IP firm is required.
  3. Knowledge of IPS Cloud is advantageous but not mandatory.
  4. Proficient IT skills, including experience with Excel, Word, and IPS.
  5. Maintain high professional standards and conduct.
  6. Be self-motivated and stay updated with changes in legislation and best practices.
  7. Excellent organizational and time management skills with flexibility.
  8. Ability to anticipate and communicate potential problems effectively.
  9. Confident communicator with good interpersonal, telephone, and letter-writing skills.
  10. Responsible for work quality, managing workload and deadlines effectively.
  11. Keep IP informed of progress and potential issues.
  12. Show enthusiasm and commitment, seeing tasks through to completion.
  13. Represent the firm positively at networking events.
