Job summary

Kettering General Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 3 Therapy Assistant to join our Therapy Team in an inpatient setting. You will support physiotherapists, occupational therapists and therapy staff to help patients maximise independence, recovery and wellbeing, delivering delegated interventions and assisting with equipment and discharge planning.

You will work across seven days, 37.5 hours per week, with training and supervision to develop practical therapy skills in a supportive

Qualifications

• Recognised training in word processing and Excel.
• Qualification at NVQ 2 level or equivalent relevant to Therapies.
• Good knowledge of the role of a Therapy Assistant in an acute inpatient team.
• Willingness to learn practical therapy skills and theory.

Responsibilities

• Deliver delegated therapy interventions, exercise programmes and assessments under supervision.
• Support patients with rehabilitation needs to promote independence and recovery.
• Monitor and report patient progress to registered therapists.
• Assist with equipment provision, fitting and demonstrations for home use.
• Support safe discharge planning and gather information for the multidisciplinary team.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and assist with data collection and audits.
• Perform additional clerical duties and collaborate with the multidisciplinary team.
