The role.

As an Innovation Strategy Consulting Manager, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-impact projects from end-to-end, managing a team of consultants, and supercharging the growth of our Consultancy practice.

Working directly with the Head of Consulting, you will take ownership of building client relationships, crafting innovative project designs and strategies to complex challenges, and scaling systems. This role is ideal for someone with deep expertise in life sciences consulting and a passion for creative, innovation, and design-led approaches.

Our work is exclusively in the pharmaceutical, biotech, and medtech industries, which tend to think of themselves as mature and conservative in their approach to risk. Despite being young (4 years), we have grown some incredible assets — (i) knowing everyone in the industry, (ii) having an ‘independent’ positioning, and (iii) having a CEO who is known as a disruptor & thought-leader. Because of this, we receive many organic approaches from potential clients who are looking for help on a wide variety of projects. We need someone who can work as a peer with our Head of Consulting to convert these into long-standing, profitable engagements with a timespan of several years.

This could be for you if...

You're an experienced leader with a passion for disrupting the status quo in pharma with the following minimum qualifications:

  • Consulting Experience: You have 6+ years of strategy or management consulting experience, with at least 4 years focused on life sciences or pharma.
  • Life Sciences Industry Knowledge: You have gained expertise working on life sciences projects in areas such as Market Access, Launch Excellence, Regulatory Affairs, Supply Chain, Medical Affairs, Commercial Strategy, or Patient Engagement. If given the opportunity, you could build out the strategic offering within one of these areas.
  • Innovation Strategy Leadership: You have deep expertise in design thinking, service design, and human-centric design frameworks. You are confident leading teams in applying these methodologies to create innovative, client solutions that challenge convention.
  • Geographical Focus: You have managed teams and led projects in global markets such as the UK, EU, and/or US.

  • Creative Vision: You’re always looking for new ways to solve problems—rethinking patient engagement or crafting strategies that surprise and inspire. You approach challenges with curiosity, imagination, and a knack for making ideas come to life.
  • Business Acumen: You’re fascinated by industry evolution, especially in pharma, biotech, and medtech. You quickly grasp key market shifts and translate them into actionable insights, connecting dots to clarify complex situations.

  • Entrepreneurial Spirit: You see opportunities where others see obstacles. Resourceful, proactive, and energized by creating new things, you thrive in fast-paced environments where you can test ideas, iterate, and make an impact.
  • Resilience: You communicate openly, give and receive critical feedback, and handle tough conversations. You’re comfortable being challenged, persistent, and committed to high-quality work.

Your responsibilities.

  • Building a Portfolio of Work: Collaborate with the Head of Consulting to develop and execute a strategic vision for the practice. Grow relationships with existing clients and secure new opportunities.
  • Leading Client Engagements: Own strategic projects from start to finish, focusing on Medical Affairs, Commercial Strategy, and Patient Engagement. Ensure outcomes and satisfaction.
  • Hands-On Problem Solving: Engage in detailed problem-solving, stakeholder management, strategy shaping, change management, and addressing challenges in drug development and launch.
  • Shaping Project Delivery: Understand complex client needs to design and deliver innovative solutions, maintaining strategic focus and quality.
  • Driving Business Development: Identify new opportunities, craft proposals, pitch to clients, and build lasting partnerships by understanding their challenges and our value.
  • Mentoring and Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a diverse, global team of consultants, fostering collaboration, growth, and high performance.
  • Innovation Strategy: Use methodologies like design thinking and service design to create industry-challenging solutions that deliver value.
