Job summary

Vortex Companies, a leading infrastructure specialist, is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join our team in the United Kingdom. You will work with commercial and construction teams to support project delivery, maximise commercial returns and effectively manage risk.

Key duties include preparing tenders, managing subcontractor relationships, cost reporting, CVRs and cash-flow forecasts. Strong negotiation and IT skills, plus proficiency in MS Word and Excel, are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent field.
• Civil engineering background and broad utilities knowledge.
• Two years estimating experience and CVR knowledge.
• Proven ability to negotiate with subcontractors and manage cost control.

Responsibilities

• Prepare tenders, analyse subcontractors, negotiate and finalise subcontract orders.
• Manage financial and commercial aspects of subcontractors to final account completion.
• Maintain site records and document control.
• Forecasts, targets and contract value reconciliations; assist cash flow management.
• Prepare valuations and variations with records and details; track changes as works progress.
