Job summary

RGB Recruitment is seeking a Project Manager to lead capital delivery in Exeter for a client investing heavily in infrastructure. The role covers feasibility through to handover, with a £50k–£60k salary and a strong emphasis on safety, governance and commercial performance.

You will collaborate with designers, contractors and senior client representatives to drive projects from concept through procurement, construction and commissioning, ensuring robust pre-construction planning.

Qualifications

• Proven experience delivering infrastructure, utilities, civil engineering or major construction projects.
• Strong pre-construction knowledge: optioneering, design development, risk management and procurement strategy.
• Experience administering NEC contracts and managing commercial performance.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and client management skills.
• Ability to challenge constructively and drive decisions in complex environments.
• Strong budget, reporting and programme management capabilities.
• A tenacious, resilient individual who can maintain momentum and overcome obstacles.
• Experience working for a contractor, consultancy or client organisation delivering capital programmes.

Responsibilities

• Manage capital projects from inception through to completion.
• Lead project planning, delivery and governance activities.
• Manage consultants, contractors and framework partners.
• Own project budgets, forecasting and cost control.
• Manage programme risks and opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, health & safety and quality standards.
• Coordinate commissioning, handover and project close-out activities.
• Build trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
