Job summary

WSP is seeking an experienced Senior Consultant to support town planning and consenting inputs on major infrastructure projects. The role requires demonstrable experience coordinating multi-disciplinary teams to secure consent under the Town and Country Planning Act 1990, Planning Act 2008, and related statutes.

Candidates should have a degree in town planning, be RTPI members, and possess strong leadership, negotiation and project-management skills to drive successful outcomes for complex,

Qualifications

• Degree level qualification in town planning (or equivalent).
• Member of the RTPI.

Responsibilities

• Lead the town planning or consenting inputs on major infrastructure projects (DCOs, DNSs, TWAOs etc).
• Provide strong technical leadership and advise clients on consenting requirements and expectations.
• Coordinate preparation and submission of consent applications under Town and Country Planning Acts, Planning Act 2008 or other regimes.
• Act as Project Director for projects led and managed by Infrastructure Planning.
• Act as Planning Expert Witness at DCO examinations or other hearings or inquiries.
• Lead complex negotiations with statutory bodies and stakeholders on behalf of clients.
• Demonstrate understanding of project finances and project management experience in a consultancy environment.
• Line management / mentoring of colleagues to support delivery of projects.
