Job summary

WSP in the UK & Ireland is seeking an experienced Senior Consultant to lead town planning and consenting inputs on major nationwide infrastructure projects. You will work with multidisciplinary teams to secure approvals under the Town and Country Planning Acts, Planning Act 2008, and related regimes.

The successful candidate will provide strong technical leadership, coordinate consent submissions, and act as Project Director for high-profile schemes, with RTPI membership or eligibility.

Qualifications

• Degree in town planning or equivalent.
• Member of RTPI or eligible for RTPI membership.
• Experience leading planning inputs on large infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning inputs on major infrastructure projects (DCOs, DNSs, TWAOs).
• Provide technical leadership and client-facing advice on consenting and approvals.
• Coordinate preparation and submission of consent applications under planning regimes.
• Act as Project Director for Infrastructure Planning projects.
• Represent clients as RTPI Planning Expert Witness at hearings.
