An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Cabot Financial in Kings Hill as an Infrastructure Operations Team Leader. This is a hybrid role with travel to Kings Hill, ME19 4UA, when required. Some London and European travel may also be required.
Job Purpose
As the Infrastructure Operations Team leader, you will drive operational excellence across all facets of IT systems and operations, ensuring robust, scalable infrastructure and services while fostering a culture of continuous improvement. You and your team will lead technical diagnosis and resolution of incidents, as well as maintaining and innovating the infrastructure and services we provide to the business.
You will manage a team responsible for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of software and hardware both on-premise and in cloud-based environments, supporting staff remotely as needed, and working with group entities globally.
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of highly skilled infrastructure engineers.
- Oversee vulnerability and patch management.
- Manage application support and upgrades.
- Ensure service availability across the group, factoring into solution scoping and daily operations.
- Make decisions on incoming work on behalf of the business/IT Operations.
- Review and vet project-related work involving infrastructure, software, or services.
- Engage technical resources for project deliverables, both internal and external.
- Maintain knowledge of current infrastructure and future trends.
- Contribute to governance across IT in areas such as tech, services, processes, and information security.
- Deliver new functionalities while maintaining existing service integrity.
- Manage risks that could cause outages or revenue loss.
- Deliver annual disaster recovery testing using best-in-breed technology.
- Support ITIL processes including change, problem, and incident management, adhering to CCM principles.
- Support audits and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance through documented IT controls.

Person Specification
Knowledge & Experience
- Team and personnel management experience.
- Expertise in Windows Server platforms.
- Experience with VMWare virtualization technologies.
- Technical expertise in Microsoft, Dell, and Citrix infrastructure.
- Knowledge of Exchange 2016/2019 Hybrid, Office 365, and Azure AD.
- Proficiency in PowerShell scripting.
- Understanding of security products and services.
- Experience with Dell and NetApp hardware, including traditional 3-tier and HCI solutions.
- Storage and backup management skills.
- Web technologies such as IIS, .Net, and Microservices.
- Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS/DFS/DHCP/WINS, Windows File & Print services administration.
- Proactive problem-solving and diagnostic skills, with strong documentation abilities.
- Knowledge of load balancing and Windows Clustering technologies.
Desirable
- Specialized knowledge in areas such as Exchange, Citrix XenDesktop, Commvault or Veeam, Ivanti Patch, Rapid 7.
- Experience with architecture and design principles.
- Understanding of ITIL processes.

- Experience in financial services sector support roles.
