Job summary

Queen Square is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Analyst (VMware) in Coventry, UK, for a 6+ month contract. The role is hybrid with 2 days on-site weekly, focusing on maintaining a large virtualised infrastructure using VMware technologies and related platforms.

The candidate will provide incident resolution, patching, storage management, and automation collaboration, while contributing to DR/BC initiatives and documentation.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience supporting virtualised infrastructure in enterprise environments.
• Strong problem solving and ability to work independently on complex issues.
• Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
• Experience with monitoring tools and VMware technology stack.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support and incident resolution for production VMware environments.
• Manage, maintain, and patch virtualised infrastructure (vSphere, UCS, HPE).
• Perform resource allocation, storage management, and backup configuration.
• Use vRealize Ops to monitor and optimise performance.
• Support disaster recovery using VMware SRM.
• Work with storage technologies (IBM Block/File Storage, Spectrum Scale, Dell VxRail).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on automation, scaling, and performance.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, standards, and procedures.

Job Title: Infrastructure Analyst (VMware) Location: Coventry (Hybrid - 2 days onsite per week) Contract: 6 Months++ Overview We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Analyst (VMware) to join a dynamic platform team supporting a large-scale enterprise environment. You will play a key role in managing, maintaining, and improving a complex virtualised infrastructure, ensuring high availability and optimal performance. This position requires strong technical troubleshooting skills, a collaborative approach, and an eagerness to contribute to process improvements and platform efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical support and incident resolution for production VMware environments.
• Manage, maintain, and patch virtualised infrastructure (vSphere, UCS, HPE).
• Perform technical tasks such as resource allocation, storage management, and backup configuration.
• Use vRealize Operations Manager to monitor and optimise infrastructure performance.
• Support disaster recovery and business continuity using VMware Site Recovery Manager (SRM).
• Work with storage technologies such as IBM Block/File Storage, Spectrum Scale, and Dell VxRail.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on infrastructure automation, scaling, and performance improvements.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, standards, and procedures.
