Job summary

Umicore is seeking a Technical Business Development Manager for our Infrared coatings and filters market at the Dundee facility. You will manage multi-level client relationships, drive profitable revenue growth, and strengthen partnerships.

You will develop and maintain strong relationships across customer organizations, suppliers and Umicore sites, ensuring collaboration and execution of commercial strategies. Travel across Europe and North America is expected.

Qualifications

• Relevant experience in sales/business administration in a manufacturing B2B environment, optics industry preferred.
• Excellent business communication and technical sales skills with understanding of Optical Manufacturing processes and Quality Standards.
• Strong organizational skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
• Affinity with numbers and financial metrics; ability to assess costs and margins.
• Creative, problem-solving, with strong listening and idea development abilities.

Responsibilities

• Own and grow the sales pipeline by identifying, developing, and converting new business opportunities.
• Build and maintain strong commercial and technical relationships with customers to drive growth.
• Lead technical and commercial engagements to influence specifications and propose value propositions.
• Develop account growth, market penetration, and go-to-market strategies to expand revenue.
• Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitive dynamics to identify opportunities.
• Provide market intelligence and business cases to support portfolio development and investments.
• Translate customer requirements into product improvements and new development with technical teams.
• Collaborate with Marketing and external partners on campaigns and customer engagements.
• Represent the company at meetings, conferences, and events to generate opportunities.
• Occasional travel across Europe, North America, and other strategic markets.
