Job summary

GTS Group Ltd in Reading, UK, is seeking an experienced IT Support Engineer to join an active, technology-driven team. You will handle 1st/2nd line support, take ownership of incidents, and progressively build infrastructure and systems expertise in a collaborative environment.

The role offers hands-on desktop support, laptop provisioning, Wi-Fi troubleshooting, and opportunities to expand into broader infrastructure responsibilities. Onsite 5 days a week.

Qualifications

• Experience in 1st/2nd line IT support.
• CompTIA certification is desirable but not essential.
• Eligible to obtain security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Provide desktop support and laptop provisioning.
• Troubleshoot hardware/software issues and network connectivity.
• Maintain ownership of incidents and progress them to resolution.

We’re supporting a growing technology-driven organisation looking to strengthen its internal IT function with an experienced support engineer who enjoys solving problems and taking ownership.

This role would suit someone with a background across 1st/2nd line support who is keen to further develop infrastructure and systems expertise within a collaborative environment.

Exposure to:

• Microsoft environments & cloud technologies
• Virtualisation and infrastructure support
• Modern workplace technologies

We’re looking for someone who:

• Has a proven track record of Desktop Support (setting up laptops, troubleshooting issues, Wi‑Fi Support,
• CompTIA certification is desirable but not essential
• Able to get security cleared

The environment offers a strong mix of hands‑on support, project exposure, and progression into broader infrastructure responsibilities.

This role is ONSITE 5 days a week.
