People Talent has partnered with a leading professional service company based in central Cardiff, recruiting for an experienced Head of IT to lead their IT function.
This critical role will support a team serving approximately 750 staff members, ensuring the smooth implementation of the existing IT strategy while managing daily IT operations and maintaining high standards of IT service delivery to safeguard the IT infrastructure.
Role and responsibilities
- Strategy Implementation: Execute and oversee the existing IT strategy aligned with the company's goals, ensuring effective and timely IT project delivery.
- Team Leadership: Manage and mentor IT professionals, including the Service Desk Manager, Service Delivery Manager, and IT Security & Operations Manager. Foster a collaborative, high-performance environment.
- Service Desk Management: Ensure efficient operation of the service desk, providing excellent support across multiple offices.
- Service Delivery: Oversee IT service delivery to meet business needs and SLAs, implementing best practices for IT service management and continuous improvement.
- Infrastructure and Operations: Lead infrastructure initiatives to ensure reliable systems, compliance, and effective risk management.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with senior management to understand IT needs and communicate initiatives effectively across the organization.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
- Proven senior IT management experience, preferably within legal or professional services sectors.
- Strong knowledge of IT service management, infrastructure, and operations.
- Experience in implementing IT strategies and leading large projects.
- Excellent leadership and team development skills.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Outstanding communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
