Job summary

Apache Associates in Hatfield, UK is seeking an experienced IT Manager to own the IT function across the UK, France, US and global sales operations. The role is broad, hands-on, with autonomy, covering strategy, infrastructure, security and projects.

You'll manage an AWS-based environment, Windows AD, Azure Entra ID, and Microsoft 365, while supporting Syspro ERP, SQL Server/MySQL, PHP and Magento. You will lead IT initiatives and manage budgets with senior leadership.

Qualifications

• Experience as IT Manager or senior IT role with cross-functional exposure.
• Practical ERP experience; Syspro preferred.
• Experience with AWS/Azure/GCP cloud infrastructure.
• PHP and SQL development experience.
• Strong AD, networking and Microsoft 365/Google Workspace.
• Experience managing IT security and budgets.

Responsibilities

• Own and develop the IT strategy and day-to-day IT operations across multiple international locations.
• Manage and improve a predominantly AWS-based infrastructure, including EC2, RDS, VPC and S3.
• Oversee Windows Active Directory, Azure/Entra ID, networking, cloud services and Microsoft 365/Google Workspace.
• Manage and support the Syspro ERP, including systems supporting supply-chain and warehouse operations.
• Support and develop the internal web applications and databases, including Microsoft SQL Server and MySQL, PHP and Magento.
• Manage code review, change control and Git/Bitbucket version control processes.
• Support the customer-facing Magento e-commerce platform.
• Take ownership of organisational IT security and data protection.
• Lead IT projects from initiation through to completion.
• Manage the IT budget and negotiate with technology suppliers.
• Identify opportunities to improve systems, processes and user experience.
• Drive continuous improvement and explore the practical adoption of AI and emerging technologies.

We are working with an established and growing international organisation seeking an experienced IT Manager to take ownership of its IT function across the UK, France, US and global sales operations.

This is a broad, hands-on role with genuine autonomy. You'll be responsible for the IT strategy, infrastructure, systems, security and projects, working closely with every area of the business and communicating directly with senior leadership, including the CEO.

About You

We're looking for an experienced IT professional with broad technical knowledge and a proven ability to take ownership.

You'll ideally have:

• Experience as an IT Manager or similar senior IT role, preferably within a small or lean team.
• Practical experience with ERP systems; Syspro would be advantageous.
• Experience managing AWS, Azure or GCP cloud infrastructure.
• PHP and SQL Development experience
• Strong knowledge of Active Directory, networking and Microsoft 365 and/or Google Workspace.
• Experience managing IT security across an organisation.
• Experience managing budgets, suppliers and third-party relationships.
• Syspro/WMS experience.
• Strong SQL skills across MSSQL and MySQL.
• Azure/Entra ID and Google Workspace.
• Experience supporting multi-country or multi-site businesses.
• Supply-chain and warehousing knowledge.
