Job summary

JLA Resourcing Ltd currently recruits an IT Business Analyst for a major digital transformation project in East London. The role is a hybrid arrangement, paying up to £500 per day Inside IR35 on an initial 6-month interim contract.

You will lead discovery, map current services and processes, elicit requirements, and translate them into technology solutions. You’ll work with business stakeholders and developers to shape MVPs, redesign workflows, and advance automation and AI-enabled tools.

Qualifications

• Strong Business Analysis experience within digital or technology-enabled transformation.
• End-to-end discovery, process mapping and requirements elicitation experience.
• Ability to work directly with developers/technical teams to turn requirements into working solutions.
• Experience facilitating workshops with stakeholders at different levels.
• Understanding of user-centered design and how tech can transform services.

IT Business Analyst - Digital Transformation

Location: East London - hybrid, typically 2 days per week onsite

Contract: Initial interim contract - 6 months

Rate: Up to £500 per day on an Inside IR35 basis

The Opportunity

We're working with an organisation embarking on an ambitious, multi-year modernisation programme that will fundamentally change how services are delivered.

Technology will play a major part in that transformation and they are now looking for experienced IT Business Analysts to sit at the point where business change, service redesign and technology meet.

This isn't a traditional BA role focused purely on gathering requirements for a predefined system. You'll work across different areas of the organisation, understand how services operate today and help determine how technology, automation, AI and digital tools could enable them to operate very differently in the future.

The Role

Working alongside Project Managers, operational teams and an in-house development capability, you'll take services through discovery and into technology-enabled redesign.

You’ll:

• Analyse and map existing services, processes and customer journeys, identifying pain points and opportunities for improvement.
• Lead discovery sessions and workshops with operational teams and senior stakeholders.
• Translate business problems and user needs into clear technology requirements and potential solutions.
• Work closely with developers to shape and build MVPs, test ideas and refine solutions through iteration.
• Help redesign processes around technology rather than simply digitising existing ways of working.
• Explore opportunities across automation, AI, workflow, data, Microsoft technologies and other digital tools.
• Produce clear artefacts including process maps, requirements, service blueprints, user journeys and prioritised backlogs.
• Move between different service areas and projects as priorities evolve, delivering at pace.

The projects will be varied. One assignment could involve redesigning an HR process using workflow and AI; another could explore how transcription, translation or automation can support frontline services; the next could focus on removing manual spreadsheets, improving reporting or enabling employees to work more effectively in the field.

The Person

We're looking for an experienced Business Analyst / Service Designer who enjoys getting underneath how an organisation actually works and then using technology to make it better.

You’ll ideally bring:

• Strong Business Analysis experience within digital or technology-enabled transformation.
• Experience of end-to-end discovery, process mapping and requirements elicitation.
• The ability to work directly with developers or technical teams to turn requirements into working solutions or MVPs.
• Experience facilitating workshops and working with stakeholders at different levels.
• An understanding of user-centred design and how technology can enable wider service and process transformation.
• The confidence to challenge existing processes and ask whether there is a fundamentally better way of delivering a service.
• The ability to work at pace, adapt quickly and move between different business areas.

Previous local authority or public sector experience would be useful but is not essential. We’re equally interested in people who have worked in complex organisations undergoing significant digital and business transformation.
