Job summary

Birlea Furniture in the Midlands is seeking an IT Analyst to join the IT & Analytics team in Castle Donington. You will provide first and second-line technical support across the organisation, ensuring systems, devices, and applications operate efficiently and securely.

This role offers exposure to a wide range of business systems and technologies, plus opportunities for training, career development, and contribution to key technology projects in a fast-paced, distribution-focused environment.

Qualifications

  • Experience providing technical support within an IT helpdesk or support environment.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Good understanding of Microsoft Windows operating systems and Microsoft 365 applications.
  • Knowledge of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, Wi-Fi, VPNs, and printers.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
  • Strong analytical and organisational skills.
  • Ability to prioritise workloads and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • A customer-focused approach with a positive and professional attitude.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Experience supporting Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
  • Experience using or supporting Linnworks.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Entra ID, Intune, and Microsoft 365 administration.
  • Experience working within distribution, warehousing, manufacturing, or retail environments.
  • Knowledge of reporting tools such as Power BI.
  • Relevant IT qualifications or certifications such as:
  • CompTIA A+
  • Microsoft Certifications
  • ITIL Foundation
  • Equivalent industry-recognised qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day technical support to users across the business.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, network, and system-related issues.
  • Log, track, and manage incidents and service requests through the IT ticketing system.
  • Escalate complex issues to internal specialists or third-party providers where necessary.
  • Set up, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, and peripheral equipment.
  • Administer user accounts, permissions, and access controls across business systems.
  • Install, configure, and support business applications and software updates.
  • Assist with maintaining IT security standards, including device compliance and access management.
  • Monitor system performance and proactively identify potential issues.
  • Produce and maintain IT documentation, procedures, and knowledge base articles.
  • Work closely with colleagues across departments to deliver excellent customer service.
  • Support and contribute to IT improvement initiatives and business technology projects.

The Role

We are looking for a proactive and enthusiastic IT Analyst to join our growing IT & Analytics team based in Castle Donington.
