Job summary

Greater Lincolnshire Combined County Authority is seeking an Information Governance Officer to strengthen information governance across the organisation. The role covers data protection, FOI, information sharing and records management, with a focus on ensuring legal compliance and robust assurance processes.

You will work with the Risk and Assurance Manager, acting as Data Protection Officer and guiding teams on GDPR, confidentiality, DPIAs and risk management.

Qualifications

• Detailed knowledge and skills across all aspects of Information Governance, particularly data protection
• Experience in an Information Governance or similar environment
• Ability to interpret information legislation, principles and best practice
• Strong communication skills with the ability to persuade, influence and explain complex information
• Experience identifying and managing risk, developing solutions and contributing to Information Assurance improvements
• Strong analytical, planning and problem-solving skills
• Confidence in developing and delivering training and awareness materials
• Ability to work under pressure, manage priorities and meet timescales

Responsibilities

• Managing and responding to FOI, EIR and DSAR requests
• Providing guidance on UK GDPR and data protection requirements
• Supporting DPIAs, investigating data breaches and maintaining risk registers
• Developing and implementing Information Governance policies, standards and training
• Overseeing records management activities including archiving and retention schedules
• Delivering data security, cyber security and compliance training to staff
• Supporting information sharing arrangements and providing advice on governance matters
• Assisting with the wider Assurance and Risk Strategy implementation
