Fenland District Council is seeking an experienced Information Governance Officer to lead a broad range of information governance matters, ensuring compliance, managing risk, and supporting the effective use of information across the organisation.

You will act as the organisation’s subject matter expert, advising managers and senior leaders, handling FOI and GDPR requests, developing policies, and delivering training to raise awareness and drive continual improvement.

Qualifications

• Strong working knowledge of UK GDPR, Data Protection Act 2018, FOI and Information Governance requirements.
• Experience managing complex information requests and advising on compliance matters.
• Experience interpreting legislation and applying it pragmatically within an organisation.
• Experience investigating data breaches and information governance incidents.

Responsabilités

• Lead of FOI and Data Protection requests.
• Provide expert advice on UK GDPR, Data Protection legislation and information governance best practice.
• Support the development, implementation and review of information governance policies, procedures and frameworks.
• Investigate and manage information governance breaches and compliance concerns.
• Deliver guidance and training to improve organisation awareness and compliance.
• Monitor legislative and regulatory development, ensuring the organisation remains compliant.
• Work collaboratively with services.
• Identify risks, make recommendations and drive continuous improvement.
