Job summary

Hertfordshire Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an Information Governance professional to support the IG agenda, deliver DSPT evidence, and complete DPIAs, DSAs and DPAs. You will act as the day‑to‑day contact for information governance, advising on records management from creation to destruction.

You will monitor compliance with IG standards, support external audits, provide monthly reports, and develop policies.

Qualifications

• Experience in the relevant field
• Degree or equivalent experience
• Desirable criteria
• Relevant professional qualification e.g., Records Management, ISEB, BCS Freedom of Information qualification, ISEB/BCS Data Protection Act qualification, Experience of managing people
• Experiencing of re - ordering stock/goods from an agreed point/supplier on a regular basis
• Evidence of training individuals and groups
• Desirable criteria
• Experience of managing projects

Responsibilities

• Gather and provide information for external auditors to ensure compliance with standards (CQC, IG Toolkit, etc.).
• Provide monitoring of service compliance with information governance and CQC standards.
• Develop and maintain databases to record FOI requests, storage of records, and breaches.
• Provide monthly reports to the Information Governance Manager and Head of Information Rights & Compliance.
• Offer specialist advice on GDPR, FOI, EIR, DPA, Records management and confidentiality.
• Advise staff on handling patient identifiable information.
• Guide public service users on information requests and rights.
• Raise awareness of information governance across the Trust.
• Ensure confidentiality, security and integrity of information.
• Explain new practices and changes due to legislation and standards.
• Undertake ongoing evaluation of IG processes and implement refinements.
• Investigate suspected breaches and report remedial actions.
• Design, undertake and analyse audits of Trust systems (e.g., EPR, BI).
• Promote Information Asset Owner role and liaison with SIRO.
• Assist in developing corporate policies / data privacy impact assessments.
• Deliver training across staff levels on information management.
