Job summary

Oxford Immunocore is seeking a Scientist in Infectious Diseases to advance preclinical research on immunotherapies targeting HIV, HBV and EBV-related diseases. The role involves designing experiments, applying ImmTAX/cell-based assays, and interpreting results to support drug development within a matrixed R&D environment.

Qualifications

• Essential qualifications are a PhD in molecular biology, cell biology, genomics, virology or immunology or a related discipline with 0–2 years of related experience; alternatively a BSc or MSc with significant bench work.
• Demonstrated proficiency with molecular and cellular techniques, including DD-PCR, NextGen sequencing, Genomics/Transcriptomics, PCR, mutagenesis and qPCR.
• Experience in culturing primary cells or cell lines, and abilities in data interpretation and scientific communication.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design and execute experiments to advance the company pipeline within time and budget constraints.
• Execute experiments using a range of molecular and cellular techniques (e.g., sequencing, PCR, qPCR, cell culture, flow cytometry, ELISpots, ELISAs).
• Analyse data, interpret results, and present findings at internal meetings; contribute to cross-functional collaborations within R&D.
