    Job Description:

    We are expanding our team at The Cherwell Hospital and have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated Nurse to join us as an Infection Prevention Control (IPC) Lead Nurse for 22.5 hours a week. The remaining 15 hours can be dedicated to your clinical expertise area, such as ward, theatre, outpatient, or pre-operative assessment.

    The role involves providing evidence-based IPC clinical advice, leading surveillance, prevention, and control of infection, and promoting high standards of IPC practices to ensure safety for patients, staff, and visitors. We seek a professional role model with experience in IPC improvement and staff education, committed to continuous professional development.

    Responsibilities:
    • Lead surveillance, prevention, and control of infection within the hospital.
    • Promote and maintain high IPC standards ensuring safety for all.
    • Provide high-quality patient care with excellent communication skills and teamwork.
    Qualifications and Experience:
    • Registered Nurse with degree-level education or equivalent.
    • Current NMC registration.
    • Teaching and assessing qualification or equivalent experience.
    • Recent update in infection prevention and control practices.
    • Infection Prevention and Control Course (Desirable).
    Essential Experience:
    • Recent experience as a registered nurse in an acute surgical care environment.
    • Knowledge of infection prevention and control at ward/department level.
    Desirable Experience:
    • Surgical site surveillance experience.
    • Tissue viability knowledge.
    • Audit and surveillance experience, including SSISS.
