A leading healthcare provider in London is seeking an Infection Prevention and Control Matron to lead the operational delivery of IPC strategy. The role involves coordinating a high-quality IPC service, providing education, and ensuring adherence to policies. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience, a degree in Infection Control, and strong leadership capabilities.
This role is suitable for individuals currently in a senior IPC position (band 7 or above). The post holder will serve as an expert IPC practitioner, leading the operational delivery of the trust's IPC strategy through risk assessment, surveillance, audit, training, education, and the development of policies and guidelines.
They will demonstrate advanced specialist infection prevention knowledge gained through extensive experience in infection prevention, supported by a specialist qualification in IPC, and will act as an expert on complex infection prevention issues across the trust.
The role involves coordinating and developing a high-quality IPC service, providing education, support, and guidance to all trust staff, and ensuring a patient-centered approach to reduce healthcare-associated infections.
The post holder will exhibit high-level clinical decision-making skills, working closely with the Associate Director for IPC and deputizing when necessary.
They will collaborate with the Associate Director to support the IPC team and the wider workforce, with key responsibilities in line management and the professional development of the IPC nursing team, demonstrating leadership and managerial skills.
